The theft of a yellow Haro boys bicycle occurred from a home in the 1900 block of Parkamo Avenue between 4:30 and 6:20 p.m.

June 29. Total value of the bike is estimated at $500. The theft of a car stereo, tool set, cell phone, Sony Walkman, wallet, golf club and backpack occurred from unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway of a home in the 3600 block of Stockbridge Lane between 1 and 3:30 a.m. Monday, June 30. A stolen credit card was used at Wal-Mart, 3201 Princeton Road, at 5:38 a.m. to purchase $132 of merchandise. A Loveland man, 25, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 30, on Ohio 4 at Oakridge Road. A Butler County grand jury returned 32 indictments during its third session in June.

No home monitoring Registered sex offender Michael Hamblin's defense attorney's request that his client accused in Mason of trying to lure three young children into the woods to "look for flying squirrels" be released on a home electronic monitoring device was denied Tuesday, July 1. Mason Municipal Court Judge D. Andrew Batsche found there was probable cause to charge Hamblin, 38, with three counts of felony sexual enticement. The case against Hamblin will now go before a Warren County grand jury. Mason Police Detective Don Cope testified Tuesday that the three children, ages 6 and 7, all identified Hamblin in separate photo lineups conducted at their homes as the man who allegedly tried to coax them into the woods surrounding Heritage Oak Park.

Tim McKenna, Hamblin's attorney, argued for his client to be released from the Warren County Jail on a home electronic monitoring device, but Batsche upheld the $750,000 bond set last week. Oxford police arrested Hamblin June 26, about three hours after his photograph appeared in the news media as a result of a tip called in by a resident, officials said. Detectives in Monroe and Liberty Twp. said Hamblin also is a suspect in similar incidents reported in their communities. Hamblin, whose last known address was in the 5000 block of Augspurger Road, is a repeat offender whose crimes against children led to tougher state laws against sexual predators.

A Fairfield man, 43, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of drugs at 5:05 a.m. June 26 on North Timber Hallow Drive. A Hamilton man was arrested on suspicion of forgery and receiving stolen property at 8:21 a.m.

June 26 at the Butler County Jail for an offense in the 6500 block Dixie Highway. A Fairfield man, 31, was arrested on suspicion of petty theft at 4:43 a.m. June 27 in the 5400 block of Vonderhaar Court. The theft of a bag of tools from a work truck parked in the 5400 block of Dixie Highway occurred between 2:15 and 3:10 p.m. June 27.

Reported value is $589. The theft of an auger occurred between 2:45 and 3:15 p.m. June 27 from a van parked in the 5400 block of Dixie Highway. Reported value is $6,500. The theft of a CD player and two speaker stands occurred at 2:40 a.m.

June 29 from Cardi's, 101 Bacher Square. Reported total value is $700. The theft of an iPhone and iPod occurred between 10 p.m. June 29 and 5:30 a.m. June 30 from an unlocked vehicle parked in an open garage in the 1700 block of Garrett House Lane.

Reported total value is $749. The theft of cash occurred at Applebee's restaurant, 3169 Princeton Road, on June 4, 15 and 16, according to a police report filed Tuesday, June 17. A total of $760 was removed from two cash drawers in a locked manager's office. Both cash drawers were submitted as evidence for possible fingerprint retrieval. Someone used a black marker to write racial epithets on the back of the vehicle in the 7500 block of Newkirk Road between 2 and 9 a.m.

June 18, then used red fingernail polish to write "GO USA, GO USA" on the rear and side of the vehicle. There also were red paint marks on the passenger side windows, doors and tire rims. The front corner panel and passenger door were keyed. The suspect then used red paint to write on another vehicle, then splattered the paint against a garage door. Police lifted a fingerprint off one of the vehicles and submitted a pen found at the scene to the Miami Valley Crime Lab for fingerprinting and processing.

Someone used a pellet gun to shoot several vehicles parked at Automax, 2617 Tylersville Road sometime before 4:05 p.m. June 24. A Hamilton man, 46, was arrested at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, on charges of robbery, vandalism, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. The man allegedly opened a pack of razors and put them back on the shelf at Wal-Mart, 3201 Princeton Road, then concealed two cordless phones in his pants and walked out of the store.

When a loss prevention officer approached the man, he said "I have a gun. Don't touch me," then ran into a wooded area. Police officers responding to the scene directed the man to get on the ground. When the man started running toward police, they ordered him stop but he did not. One officer discharged his Taser, striking the man in the back and causing him to drop to Hamilton; indicted on two counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug (direct).

Bedinghaus 35, 1685 Shuler Hamilton; indicted on one count each of escape (direct) and retaliation (direct). Terrence A. Candidate, 23, 6457 Highland Green, West Chester indicted on one count each of escape (direct) and aiding escape or resistance to authority (direct). Courtney Scott Frierson, 44, 205 Long Hamilton; indicted of two counts of possession of cocaine (direct), and one count each of trafficking in cocaine (direct), trafficking in marijuana (direct) and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia (direct). Police reported that someone stole various items including a stove, refrigerator, air conditioner and copper from a residence on Dayton Street between May 27 and June 10.

On June 11, police reported someone broke into a garage on Franklin Street and took various tools, including a welder, compressor and ratchet. Amanda Lynn Schultheiss, 19, of the 700 block of East Avenue, was arrested June 11 on charges of robbery. Police reported Schultheiss stole money and purse from a female. Police reported June 14 that a wheelchair was taken from a garage on Goodman Avenue. On June 14, police reported a man was grabbed from behind while emptying trash at the rear of a business.

Police reported the male was cut in the arm when he refused to give them his wallet. Police reported June 15 that someone broke out a car's window on River Road and took a purse containing cash, credit cards and a cell phone. On June 16, police reported that a residence on Shuler Avenue was broken into and various items were taken. Police reported June 16 that a male had cash stolen from him while at Dayton Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard by an unknown person. Police reported the male received a puncture wound from the knife that was held on him.

Geoffrey Pearl Fugate, 26, address unknown, was arrested June 20 on charges of burglary. Police reported Fugate broke out a side window of a residence he didn't own and entered the house. Police reported Fugate was located in the house sleeping. Mark Anthony Hoskins, 45, of the 100 block of Timberhill Drive, Hamilton, was arrested June 21 on charges of breaking and entering. Police reported Hoskins broke out two different windows in an attempt to get inside a building.

Police reported June 22 that someone broke into a car on Curtis Drive and stole the car stereo and a set of tools. On June 23, police reported someone broke into a car on Waterfowl Lane and took various items, including a wallet, speaker and an amp. Donald P. Vandals threw numerous chairs and umbrellas into the residents' pool at Logsdon Woods subdivision in the 4000 block of Logsdons Woods Drive overnight June 23.
